The Covid-19 positive cases increased marginally to 3,806 on Friday from 3,631 on Thursday. With the new cases reported from the 30 districts and State pool, the total tally rose to 8,70,498.
A total of 64,850 samples had been tested in last 24 hours. Out of new cases 2,172 were from quarantine and 1,634 were local contacts. Khordha district again reported highest daily cases at 617 followed by Cuttack with 393, Jajpur 346, Baleswar 220, Puri 200, Angul 175, Mayurbhank 159, Bhadrak 158, Kendrapada 145, Nayagarh 134. Jagatsinghpur 130, Sundargarh 119, Rayagada 111, Nabarangpur 88, Keonjhar 81, Koraput 77, Malkangiri 75, Bargarh 58, Gajapati and Sambalpur 45 each, Kalahandi 43, Subarnapur and Ganjam 36 each, Boudh 35, Kandhamal 34, Nuapada 31, Deogarh 30, Balangir 28 and Jharsuguda 19.
Besides, 95 cases were reported from State pool. The active cases in State stood at 43,338 while so far 8,23,599 patients have recovered. However, as many as 37 more patients succumbed to virus in 14 districts of State in last 24 hours, mounting total death toll to 3,508. Khordha district reported maximum five casualties, including 4in Bhubaneswar, followed by four each in Cuttack, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi, three each in Bargarh, Puri and Sundargarh, two each in Balangir, Deogarh, Kendrapada and Rayagada districts and one each in Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur.
