The State continued to witness the surge in Covid-19 cases with 3,384 new positive ones registered from across all 30 districts on Thursday, taking the total tally to 90,986.
The death toll also rose to 448 as seven more patients succumbed to the virus.
Of the new cases, 2,128 were reported from quarantine centres and 1,256 were local contact cases.
Among the districts, Khordha recorded the day’s highest 587 cases followed by Cuttack 492, Sambalpur 182, Ganjam and Mayurbhanj 177 each, Jajpur 176, Bargarh 157, Rayagada 154, Puri 121, Baleswar 119, Sundargarh 101, Balangir 99, Jharsuguda 94, Koraput 89, Bhadrak 82, Kendrapada and Nayagarh 76, Keonjhar 63, Dhenkanal 60, Kandhamal 58, Malkangiri 44, Jagatsinghpur 43, Subarnapur 37, Nabarangpur 31, Kalahandi 27, Nuapada 19, Deogarh 16, Angul 13, Gajapati nine and Boudh five.
Out of the deaths on the day, Sambalpur district reported three, Bargarh two and Khordha (Bhubaneswar) and Bhadrak one each.
The deceased from Sambalpur included a 75-year-old man, a 58-year-old man and a 60-year-old man.
The two deceased of Bargarh were a 76-year-old man and a 65-year-old man. The other two deaths were of a 60-year-old man of Bhadrak district and a 62- year-old woman of Bhubaneswar. However, 2,510 more persons recovered from the disease on the day, taking the total recoveries to 65,323 in the State.
The highest 435 recovered in Khordha district followed by Ganjam 277, Cuttack 225, Puri 218, Koraput 182 , Jajpur 135 , Mayurbhanj 119, Baleswar 101, Gajapati 89, Malkangiri 75, Sundargarh 72, Sambalpur 64, Balangir 51, Kalahandi 48, Kandhamal 47, Bhadrak 43, Jharsuguda 42, Subarnapur 38, Bargarh 36, Nayagarh 33, Boudha 31, Dhenkanal 30, Keonjhar 30, Kendrapada 25, Rayagada 25, Jagatsinghpur 17, Nabarangpur 11, Angul five, Deogarh three and Nuapada three.
