The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to administer the first Covid-19 vaccine dose to all residents of the city by July 15 and the second dose by the end of August. While 18,000 to 20,000 persons are now being vaccinated at 55 vaccination centres in city daily, the civic body aims to increase the figure to 28,000-30,000 at a total of 60 centres. BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh said that those working in hotel, tourism, IT, food delivery and media sectors in city have been vaccinated. Medicine shopkeepers, cab drivers, vendors and newspaper hawkers would be administered vaccine soon, the official added.
