The second phase of vaccination against Covid-19 at the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Hospital for the healthcare and frontline workers took place on Saturday. The vaccination has been eagerly awaited to prevent spread of the disease by creating herd immunity in the community.
As per the Government guidelines, several healthcare workers of the PPT Hospital were immunised first on Friday. On Saturday, 142 PPT Hospital healthcare and frontline workers got immunised. This is to be noted that no adverse reaction has been reported following the vaccination of 1,160 workers in the first phase. All should come forward to take the vaccine to defeat the dreaded Covid-19, stated PPT CMO Dr Prahallad Chandra Panda.
