A second edition of Odisha Tourism’s flagship Eco Retreat event commenced at five locations, Ramchandi beach in Konark, Satkosia, Bhitarkanika, Daringibadi and Hirakud, on Wednesday and will continue till February 28.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the event through videoconferencing. Video messages of Patnaik, Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Union Petroleum and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were displayed at the five locations during the inauguration ceremony.
The event aims at boosting the State’s tourism sector, which has been badly hit during the Covid-19 pandemic. The first edition of Eco Retreat had been held only at the Ramchandi beach last year.
Accommodation facilities and services are to be provided to the tourists in luxury tented cottages at the Eco Retreats.
