Police on Tuesday registered a case against a 28-year-old man in Jajpur district on the charge of ditching a 23-year-old girl after giving her false promise to marry her. The accused Chaguli Ojha of Tarakota village under the Korei police station allegedly maintained physical relationship with the girl of Sadakapur village since last month on the promise to marry her.However, Chaguli of late refused to marry the girl, following which the girl filed an FIR against him at the Korei police station on Tuesday.
“Acting on the FIR, we have registered a case against the accused under Section 376 (rape). The accused is absconding. We are investigating the case,” said Korei PS IIC Chinmayee Sahoo.
