The first-phase list of the houses and plots allotted in favour of the employees of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has revealed that 26 BDA employees got more than one plot or house from the authority under different schemes.
The list stated that even Grade-IV employees of the BDA have got more than one plot or house from their organisation. It showed that Durga Charan Sahu, working as a peon in the BDA, has got a house in Kalinganagar plotting scheme and another house in Chandrasekharpur housing scheme of the BDA.Kartik Tripathy, working as Amin, has also two houses in Chandrasekharpur under two different housing schemes. Section Officer Kasinath Tripathy has got two houses from Chandrasekharpur housing scheme and a plot from another plotting scheme.
Junior Typist Susant Kumar Moharana has two plots and houses under different schemes of the BDA. Junior Steno Bijay Kumar Swain has a house in Kalinganagar plotting scheme and another house in Chandrasekharpur housing scheme of the BDA, it added.When asked, a BDA employee, who got more than one plot and house under the BDA schemes, said he didn’t violate any law at all. He had bought the plot as there was no other buyer for the house.
The list mentions other employees’ name which would be given to the Taskforce. The employees would also submit their property list before the Taskforce formed to probe the alleged house and land allotment scam.Notably, the BDA has so far allotted 10,935 housing units, 5,311 residential plots and 2,271 commercial units under 53 schemes.
