State capital city Bhubaneswar on Sunday registered 246 new Covid-19 positive cases, with which its total tally rose to 86,935. This ws a slight decrease from the 287 infections reported on Saturday.
Out of the new cases, 211 were local contacts and 35 were quarantine cases. The local contacts included 16 cases in Khandagiri, 14 in Nayapalli, 13 in Baramunda, 11 in Chandrasekharpur, 10 each in Badagada and Niladri Vihar, eight each in Patia and AIIMS Nagar and seven in Gajapati Nagar.
Currently, the active cases stood at 1,544 in the city. Meanwhile, five more patients succumbed to the disease in the city on the day, mounting the total death toll to 407. However, 551 persons recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 84,963.
