The Phiringia police on Tuesday arrested two persons on the charge of transporting ganja near Fire Station Chhak here. The accused were identified as Naim Ahmed and Sashi Kumar S, residents of electronic city in Bangalore.
The police seized 23 kg of ganja, cash of Rs 70,000, three mobiles and some foreign currencies from their procession.
Kandhamal SP Pratik Singh said a local person involved in the racket was still on the run. He also said, “We have informed the Bangalore police regarding the details of the two accused and are investigating whether a big racket is involved in the ganja transportation.”
