Bhubaneswar on Thursday registered 229 Covid-19 cases. With this, the total tally rose to 1,06,079 in the city. Notably, the city had recorded 170 cases on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 185 were local contacts and 44 were from quarantine.
The local contacts included 11 in Patia, 10 each in Nayapalli and Old Town and six each in Dumduma, Ghatikia, Baramunda and IRC Village. The active cases in the city stood at 3,357.
One more patient succumbed to the disease in the city, increasing the total death toll to 990.
However, 261 persons recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 1,01,711.
