With just six months left for the State to head for panchayat polls and the opposition Congress and BJP mounting their attacks on the Government for scams and corruptions, the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government has initiated efforts to appease the teachers’ community.
last week witnessed a slew of announcements of salary hike and regularisation of jobs.
On Tuesday too, the Government issued notification regarding regularisation of jobs of Gana Sikshaks and salary hike of Block Grant school teachers.
There are nearly 22,000 Gana Shikshaks in the State.
According to the notification, eligible Gana Shikshaks would be regularised within eight years. However, it has put some conditions for this.
Those who have completed requisite training of Elementary level 5 after Plus II would be regularised within eight years.
The teachers who do not meet the criteria by March 2018 would be dismissed from service.
