A 22-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Tuesday night by two persons at village Charabatia under the Jajpur Road police station. The police detained both the accused.
Sudrashan Dash IIC of Jajpur Road police station said, “The victim girl, a resident of village Balabhadrapur under the Patkura police station in Kendrapada district, was working in a tailoring shop at Chandikhol and used to reside in a rented house at Charabatia.
On Wednesday, the girl filed an FIR alleging that the house owner Udaya Gochayat (52) and one Susanta Sahoo (28) forcibly entered her room and raped her on Tuesday night.”
The police filed a case under Section- 376 of IPC against the accused persons. The girl and the accused persons were medically examined and the report is awaited. The police are further investigating the case, the IIC said.
