In order to transport people in emergency cases during night hours, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has allowed 22 auto-rickshaws to run in the city.
The BeMC has made public the auto-rickshaw registration numbers and mobile phone numbers of all 22 auto-drivers, who will run their three-wheelers. The civic body has also fixed fare at Rs 10 per km.
The BeMC took the decision after auto drivers voluntarily proposed to run their three-wheelers to help people during emergencies.
