Hanuman idol installed; Puja starts in B’pur
Brahmapur: A Hanuman idol was installed at the Ramlingam pond side temple near the Goutam cinema hall here on Sunday. The installation process was conducted on the auspicious day of Sital Sasthi following rituals of ‘Panchamrut Snan’. A day-long Hanuman-Chalisha chant, Bhajan-Kirtan and Prasad Sevan marked the event. The idol was absent from the time the temple was demolished. “The idol would be worshiped here till the district administration allocates land for construction of a new temple,” said devotee Narayan Das. The devotees have asked for land allocation by the district administration.
Ananya Mahila Mandal celebrates Raja
Talcher: On the occasion of celebration of the last day of the Raja festival, the Ananya Mahila Mandal of Jagannath area organised several competitions for the girls and women at Badatribida village. laxmipriya Barik won ‘Raja Queen’ award. Ananya Mahila Mandal president Sandhya Brahmapurkar distributed prizes among other participants and chaddars (shawls) to the helpless old and poor people in the village. Certain act of kindness provides an ultimate content to one, observed Brahmapurkar.
