B’pur karateka bags 2 medal in Int’l meet
Brahmapur: City’s karate kid Aditya Kumar Sahu has bagged silver medal in Kumite category and copper medal in the Kata category in the 15th WKI International Karate Championship, 2017 held at Colombo in Sri lanka recently. Aditya’s father Rabi Kumar, G Suresh and WKI association members have congratulated Aditya and his trainer Manoj Kumar Nayak.
N’rangpur football team selection camp held
Umarkote: The Nabarangpur district football team selection for the senior inter-district Sahani Cup Football tournament was held at Khutuguda village in Umarkote block on Wednesday. Players from all blocks and municipalities of the district participated in the selection camp. The District Athletic Association (DAA) selectors have selected sixteen players, who will meet their first match with the Sambalpur team on November 14. The tournament will kick off in Balangir on November 10. Among others, DDA secretary and Odisha Football Association VP Prahalada Tripathy, joint secretary Khalid Jilani, local BDO Tarani Suna, Tehsildar Runi lackra, Bar president Prasant Sahu and Monohar Mohanty were present.
