The Odisha Kala Sikshya Sahayak Sangha, State Committee held its executive meeting here on Sunday under the chairmanship of its president Aarti Acharya.
The members held a discussion on the problems of the teachers. Earlier, the State Government had assured to fulfil their demands which include recruitment on a permanent basis, increasing their remuneration, a job chart and providing leave during pregnancy of women teachers.
Sangha chief advisor Jyotiranjan Mahapatra said though the Government says development of the art and culture would ensure the State’s overall development, the art teachers’ demands are not fulfiled which is highly unfortunate.
The Sangha decided to gherao the State Assembly on September 13 pressing for fulfilment of their demands.
