Young woman raped, murdered in Puri forest
Puri: A young woman was found dead in the Mangupada forest in the Jagdalpur area under the Delang police limits in Puri district on Wednesday morning. Though the identity of the woman was yet to be established, it was suspected that she was raped and then murdered as the body was found in a naked condition with hands tied and neck slit. Police started investigation into the incident.
BJP Yuva Morcha holds meet in Phulbani
Phulbani: The Kandhmal BJP Yuva Morcha held a meeting and rally and attacked the BJD Government on various issues. Breastfeeding awareness drive held in Baleswar
Baleswar: An awareness programme on breastfeeding on the occasion of the World Breastfeeding Week was held at the Godhibasha slum on Tuesday. Ward Councillor Kabita Murmu presided over the meeting while Public Health Manager of Urban Health Mission Sanjay Parida and social activist Ubachak Mohanty spoke about the need and benefits of breastfeeding that increases immune power of infants. Health Worker Purnima Chand, ASHA Worker Sabita Nayak and Anganwadi Worker Madhusmita Mohanty also deliberated on the need of breastfeeding.
Man killed in bear attack in Mayurbhanj
Baripada: At Tatakmara village of Khdambeda GP under Bisoi Block in Mayurbhanj district, a middle-aged tribal farmer died due to the attack of a wild bear late on Tuesday. Bhari Munda (50), while tending cows, was suddenly attacked by the bear from behind.
Meetings mourn Agrawal’s demise in Subarnapur
Sonepur: The Mahanadi Sahitya Sansad here on Wednesday paid heartfelt tributes to eminent historian and writer Dr Sadanand Agrawal, who died on Tuesday. Speakers described Agrawal as a perfect disciple of Santh Kavi Bhima Bhoi.
