MCl provides garbage compactor for S’pur
Sambalpur: A garbage compactor vehicle rolled on Sambalpur city being provided by the Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) under its mission Swachh Koyalanchal (Clean Coalfields), part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, on Thursday. local MlA Dr Raseswari Panigrahi flagged off the vehicle at Jail Chowk. Among others, Samabalpur Collector Samarth Verma and MCl Chief Manager (Civil/CSR) MS Ansari were present.
Preparations made for Independence Day
Tarbha: A meeting was held at the Tarbha NAC office for preparations for the Independence Day being presided over by NAC Chairman Monikalal Agrawal. This year, children litterateur Dr Ramesh Chandra Patri will be chief guest on the day. All schools were informed to hold debate, essay and drawing competitions. It was decided to award the students who got 90% or more marks in last Class-X examination. Tehsildar Prasanna Pande, invited guests and schoolteachers were present at the meeting.
BSNl workers hold stir in Brahmapur
Brahmapur: The Brahmapur Telecom District’s BSNl Association and the Sanchar Nigam Association under the leadership of Kameswar Rao held a dharna in front of the BSNl head office here on Friday over various demands. On the other hand, the BSNl service has been disrupted in the western region of the city and old Brahmapur since 15 days. Despite repeated complaints, the problem has not been solved yet.
