A wanted woman Maoist cadre on Wednesday surrendered before police in Rayagada district alleging exploitation at Maoist camps by seniors. Rina Mallik alias laxmi of Niyamgiri Dalam, who hails from Ganjam district, surrendered before Rayagada SP K Siva Subramani.
She alleged that Maoist leader Bunty forced her to abort her foetus. She also alleged that women Maoist cadres in Odisha are given less importance as compared to those of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
The Maoist cadres from Odisha are engaged in cooking and entertainment activities.
Rina confessed before the police that she was involved in six violent activities of the Maoists. The SP welcomed her to the mainstream of the society and assured all possible helps from the Government side for her proper rehabilitation.
Motivated by the Maoist ideology, she had joined them a decade ago. After being associated with them for so long, she realised that the ultras do nothing for the development of the poor and decided to come out from their clutches.
Earlier on February 23, two women Maoist cadres from Kalimela Dalam had surrendered before Malangiri district SP Mitrabhanu Moahapatra.
