AAP demands probe into KV’s lAD fund use
Balangir: Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Ajaya Das, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Vigilance SP, Sambalpur demanding an inquiry into the sanctioning of Rs 2 lakh from MlA lAD fund of Patnagarh MlA KV Singh Deo for construction of a hospital. An NGO helpline constructed the hospital. Chairperson of the NGO is Nibruti Singh Deo, daughter of KV Singh Deo. The AAP members demanded an inquiry, failing which they have threatened agitation. The AAP activists submitted memorandum through DSP, Vigilance, Abhiram Kara.
Jumbo kills woman in Dhenkanal district
Dhenkanal: A woman, Saraswati Sahoo, was killed in an elephant’s attack at Kanliki village under the Muktapasi Forest Range in Dhenkanal district on Wednesday night. The animal stormed into the village at night and damaged many houses. While most of the villagers ran away in fear, Saraswati was unable to do so and came in front of the pachyderm. She was grievously injured in the elephant’s attack and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. But she succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.
Man electrocuted in Jagatsinghpur
Jagatsinghpur: A middle-aged man, Bishnu Charana Sethy, of Saralapur in the Tirtol area was electrocuted while working in an electric pump set on Wednesday. He was sprinkling water in paddy field using the electric pump and came in contact with electric line connected to the pump.
