B’swar woman Councillor commits suicide
Baleswar: Councillor of Ward-28 of Baleswar Municipality Banasmita Das committed suicide by hanging on Tuesday. The reason for her suicide was yet to be known.
New K’mal SP assures to solve key issues
Phulbani: Newly joined Kandhamal SP Pinak Mishra said at a Press meet, “We have key challenges like Maoist problem, human trafficking, traffic problem, ganja cultivation and parking problem in the town.” Minor boys are taking dendrite, which should also be checked, he added. Mishra, a 2011 cadre IPS, belongs to Bhawanipatna. He was in probation at Jajpur and SP in Malkanagiri and then in Nuapada. “I will be always available on phone for any kind of problem,” he said.
Kandhamal Head Clerk held taking bribe
Phulbani: Kandhamal district’s Baliguda tehsil Head Clerk Nityanand Sahu was arrested by Vigilance officials and forwarded to court on Tuesday for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs1,500. Sahu had demanded bribe from one Surendra Mallik of Dandapadar village to process the file of his brother’s mutation case relating to ancestral property. On Mallick’s complaint, a trap was laid and Nityananda Sahu caught red-handed by Vigilance officers.
