Patsani backs stir against caste-based reservation
Bhubaneswar: The Youth for Equality & India against Reservation staged a demonstration against caste-based reservation in front of the BJP State office here during the Raahgiri celebration on Sunday. local BJD MP Prasanna Patsani visited the spot and appreciated the activists’ effort to stop caste-based politics in India, said a release of the organisation.

Bhubaneswar: Utkal Sammilani leader Dillip Dashsharma donated blood on the eve of the World Red Cross Day in a blood donation van near the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch office on Sunday in the presence of Red Cross Society State Branch Secretary Dr Chakradhar Panda and Capital Hospital Red Cross Blood Bank Director Dr Debasish Mshra.
1,000 weaver looms to be set up this yr
Bhubaneswar: The State Government has a plan to set up 1,000 looms for weavers across the State during the current year and for this Rs 700 lakh has been allocated in the State Budget. Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Snehangini Chhuria informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Kailash Chandra Kuleshika on Saturday. The MlA had wanted to know whether the Government had planned to set up 1,500 looms during the current year.
