CM likely to visit Joda this month
Champua: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to visit Joda during the last part of this month. Though no official programme has been declared yet but the distinct administration is gearing up itself keeping in view of the probable visit of the Chief Minister. During the visit, Patnaik may inaugurate some developmental projects, including a Kalyan Mandap at Joda Municipality built by the Tata Steel and two Biju Pucca Ghara schemes. Keonjhar Collector N Tirumala Naik came to Joda on Sunday to study the work of the Kalyan Mandap. If Patnaik comes, this would be his first visit to the Champua Constituency after the last Assembly elections.
Rotarians participate in anti-polio drive
Banpur: The Rotary International has undertaken effective measures for eradication of polio from India. On the occasion of the Polio Drop Distribution Day on Sunday, members of the Banpur-Balugaon Rotary Club participated in the programme in the Banpur and Balugaon areas. Former presidents of the club Sarojini Dash and Omprakash Agrawal administered polio drops to children and created awareness about the programme along with Rotarian Rabinayan Pal. Club president Bijaya Kumar Nanda also visited polio drop booths.
PPT High School observes annual day
Paradip: The Paradip Port Trust High School observed its 41st annual day at the school premises here on Saturday. PPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy was present as chief guest and encouraged the students to set a goal in early stage and concentrate to achieve it. PPT Vice-Chairman N Bhayapuri explained that how to learn English language in an easy way. Former student of the school Dr Kishore Kumar Brahma and Headmaster Narahari Parida spoke, among others. Successful students were awarded on the occasion. The meeting was followed by a cultural function by students.
Vedanta bags HR Excellence Award
Jharsuguda: The Vedanta’s Jharsuguda operations won the Significant Achievement in HR Excellence Award at the 6th CII National HR Excellence Awards in the category of Top Company for learning & Development. The company had first won the 4th level for Significant Commitment in CII HR Excellence Awards, and next year the 3rd level for Significant Achievement in HR Excellence in the CII HR Excellence Awards. In the 6th HR Excellence Award, the company’s overall score banding increased to be in the range of 551-600 from the range of 501-550 last year.
