U Sammilani felicitates Basant Panigrahy
Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Sammilani on Tuesday felicitated its advisor and former president senior advocate Dr Basant Panigrahy for receiving Dlit from the Berhampur University from Governor SC Jamir. At a special function held here, Sammilani members including Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch head Dillip Dashsharma and State president Guruprasad Mohanty felicitated Dr Panigrahy, who dedicated the honor to the Sammilani. Notably, the award was supposed to given to Dona Ganguly. Due to opposition, it was later given to Dr Panigrahy.
OUJ foundation day observed
Bhubaneswar: The 44th foundation day of the Odisha Union of Journalists (OUJ) was observed at the Jayadev Bhawan here on Tuesday. Journalists Satya Prakash Nayak, Ardhendu Das, Prabir Sarkar, Gajendra Mohanty and Kambupani Mishra and Puri Jagannath Temple Public Relations Officer laxmidhar Pujapanda were felicitated on the occasion. Ministers Damodar Rout and Prafulla Kumar Mallik, MlAs Pradip Purohit and Bijay Mohanty, former NUJ general secretary Prasanna Mohanty, NUJ vice-president Sankar Prasad Mishra and OUJ secretary Ajay Sahoo addressed the meeting. NUJ general secretary Ratan Dixti was the chief speaker. OUJ president Prakash Panigrahi presided over the meeting.
Autism Therapy Centre participates in DAV annual fest
Bhubaneswar: Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ADC) participated in the annual fest of DAV Chandrasekharpur School. The Autism Therapy Centre, which runs under the aegis of the Manage Autism Now (MAN) provides therapy to the children affected by autism. Justice Dipak Misra of the Supreme Court was the chief guest of the function. Autism-affected students Aditya and Chinu mesmerised the audience with their performance. MAN chairperson Swarnlata Mishra thanked school Principal Dt KC Satapathy for giving an opportunity to the ADC-affected students to exhibit their skill.
