Baleswar: Binay Kumar Das (48), Scientist H, has been elevated to the post of Director and as head of Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur. He would be assuming the post on Friday. Das has vast experiences in the field of missile.

Balangir: The BJD’s voluntary blood donation programme Jivan Bindu was held here on Wednesday with senior party leader AU Singh Deo inaugurating it. BJD State Council member Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo, after donating blood, said youths should come forward to donate blood to save precious lives. According to medical sources, collected blood units can be preserved for a month. The requirement for blood is more between February and August; hence, more blood camps should be organised during this period, though the aspect is usually overlooked by organisers, said a party leader.
Man jumps before running train in R’gada, dies
Rayagada: A man committed suicide by jumping in front of the Bhubaneswar-Junagarh link Express train near the Muniguda railway station on Tuesday early morning. The deceased, who is yet to be identified, was sitting near the railway check gate before taking the extreme step. later, traffic near the gate was jam packed. local people suspect that it might be a case of farmer suicide. The railway police are investigating into the incident.
