The Jatin Das Centre of Arts (JDCA) here organised its 186th ‘Meet the Artist’ programme on Saturday at its premises. Eminent papier mache artist Purushottam Mohapatra joined the programme as the chief speaker.
Mohapatra shared his experiences in the profession of making papier mache. He has learnt traditional method of making mache from late Guru Jagarnnath Mohapatra of Raghurajpur. He started modern method of making of mache later.
He explained procedure of making mache and the use of colour in it on the occasion. Artists are now forgetting this art form gradually, he concerned.
Dr Anadi Sahoo gave welcome address and Biren Das felicitated Mohapatra.
Among others, Dr Anant Charan Sahoo, Rajiv Sadhangi, Dr Mallakar, NIranjan Sahoo, Bharati Desai and Mangala Prasad Mohanty were present.
