A Standing Committee of the State Assembly headed by Congress MlA Dr Prafulla Majhi visited the Balasore Alloys plant at Balgopalpur here on Tuesday.
The other members of the committee were Ayub Khan, Chandrasekhar Majhi and local MlA Gobinda Das. ADM Manmath Kumar Pani, DRDA PD Allimuddin Khan and Additional labour Commissioner Gitanjali Pati too accompanied the committee.
The committee reviewed work culture inside the plant and its CSR activities. The company authorities explained about the various measures taken by them to prevent pollution. They said the company has planted thousands of trees in its peripheral villages and built toilets and made drinking water systems in schools.
Company directors Anil Surekha and Ashok Pattnaik and PR manager Sanjay Acharya were present during the committee’s visit.
