The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an action-taken report (ATR) from the Chief Secretary over appointment and regularisation of jobs Gaon Sathis.
Acting on a petition filed by Odisha Human Rights Front president Manoj Jena the Commission has asked the Chief Secretary to submit report within eight weeks.
This was revealed by the Gaon Sathi Sangha Milita Kriynusthan Committee, Odihsa unit president laxmidhar Biswal here at a Press conference on Tuesday.
Biswal further informed that as the State Government has failed to comply with the order of even the Odisha High Court despite the deadline the Sangha would again move to the court.
“In August 7, two writ petitions were filed by one Budhadeb Routray in the High Court. Hearing the case, the High Court on September 1 has directed the State Government to file counter affidavit. But though the deadline has been elapsed, the Government is yet to comply with the court direction,” rued Biswal.
“We brought the issue to the notice of the Odisha High Court soon,” said Biswal.
