6 girls selected for national hockey camp
Bhubaneswar: Hockey India has been announced a 32 members probable list on Friday in which six Odisha girls got selected for the Preparatory Camp of the Indian Women Core Probable’s team is all set to commence at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on March 22 and will continue till April 7. The camp is for the preparation for the upcoming New Zealand Tour from April 11 to 19.
Deep Grace Ekka, Sunita lakra, Namita Toppo, lilima Minz, Punam Barla and Anupa Barla are the six Odisha players got selected.
32 players are part of the camp which is for the enhancement and training of the players before they depart for New Zealand. The Indian Women team has showed marvellous performance in the recently concluded Hero Hockey World league Round 2 (Women), where they finished as Champions and remained unbeaten in the league. After the victory, the Women National Team has qualified for the FIH Hockey World league Semi-Final Round, which is scheduled later this year.
Cuttack VS Keonjhar in Inter-District cricket
Bhubaneswar: Cuttack would cross swords with Keonjhar in the final of the OCA Inter-Districts Women’s Cricket Tournament at Bidanasi Ground in Cuttack on Sunday. In the semifinals on Friday, Cuttack edged out Bolangir by four wickets. Similarly, Keonjhar beat Bhubaneswar by six wickets.
