10-day yoga camp held at A’garh school
Athagarh: A ten-day-long yoga camp was organised in the Navodaya Vidyalaya campus here in joint collaboration of Sri Sri Shankar’s Sri Sri University at Naraj and the Navodaya Vidyalaya at Mundali. The camp had started on December 5 with over 300 students participating in it. The campers practised 78 rounds of Surya Namaskar every morning followed by meditation and other yogic postures. The yoga teachings were conducted by volunteers Vishnu, Gopi, Mani, Priti, Harshita of the Sri Sri University and NCC officer Indrajit Pal and PET BN Mohapatra of Navodaya Vidyalaya.
Purulia Chhau dance enthrals J’pore audience
Jeypore: A scintillating performance of the Purulia Chhau dance, a subgenre of the Chhau dance form, was showcased by the Rajak Groups from West Bengal at the Modern English School here on Sunday. The programme was organised by the Spic Macay, South Odisha Chapter. The entire school fraternities, including school Director Kumudabala Mohanty and Principal Supriya Panigrahi were present during the event. The Bengal dance enthralled a huge number of crowed gathered on the occasion. The programme was coordinated by Nishan Pattanaik.
MCl club holds blood donation camp
Sambalpur: The Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) Anand Vihar Club, Burla organised a blood donation camp on Sunday. Medical Superintendent of the MCl Anand Vihar Hospital Dr Debashis Gupta inaugurated the camp in the presence of MCl senior managers BB Mishra and CS Viswakarma. As guest of honour, Mishra said that nothing can be a substitute of blood when it comes to save a live. Doctors and staff of the MCl Anand Vihar hospital and the VSS Medical College and Hospital extended their support in the camp. Among others, club Secretary Madhusudan Swain and Ramakanta Panda were present.
SSl smelter gets energy conservation award
Jharsuguda: The Sesa Sterlite’s aluminium smelter plant in Jharsuguda has been awarded with the prestigious national Energy Conservation award-2014 in Aluminium sector. Sesa Sterlite (SSl), Jharsuguda COO and President Abhijit Pati received the award from Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal during the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations, organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power in New Delhi on Sunday. The plant was awarded for exhibiting and discharging its commitment towards the cause of environmental conservation, focusing on superior energy management.
