UCCI new office-bearers elected
Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) held its 50th annual general meeting at its office here on September 30. It also held elections for its office-bearers during the meeting. While Ramesh Mohapatra was reelected as the president of the body, S Jagdev was elected as the vice-president (industry), Dipak S Rathor as the vice-president (commerce) and Prabhakar Rout as the vice-president (general). The other elected members are Debabrata Dash (secretary), Ashok Mahapatra (joint secretary), RN Panigrahi (treasurer) and Pravat Mohanty (joint treasurer).
SBI holds cleanliness drive in city slum
Bhubaneswar: In response to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State Bank of India (SBI) Bhubaneswar Circle organised the Swachh Bharat mission on the occasion of the Gandhi Jayanti on Thursday. A meeting, presided over by bank’s Bhubaneswar Circle (NW-I) General Manager Pulak Kumar Sinha, was held at its local head office here. later, all employees pledged to devote 100 hours time in a year to achieve the ‘Clean India’ mission. later, the employees went to Mangala Sahi here and cleaned the Basti. Sinha advised the Basti people to keep the environment clean and make a habit to drop waste materials in the dustbins provided by the SBI.
RSS holds Bijaya Dashami in city
Bhubaneswar: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bhubaneswar Mahanagar celebrated Bijaya Dashami at a play ground in Sundarpada amidst fervour and pomp. RSS Puri branch president Sameer Mohanty attending as chief speaker gave a brief note on how many great personalities had built up their future with the blessings of Maa Durga. Among others, Baikuntha Nath Sahoo, retired headmaster Radhanath Kar, Jayakrushna Prusthi and Nilamani Mohapatra were present. Various rituals and cultural programmes were organised on the occasion.
Central Bank holds SwachChh Bharat Abhiyan
Bhubaneswar: The Central Bank of India, Regional office here observed the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan here with all its staff members taking pledge and participating in a cleanliness drive at the bank premises. Employees of different branches of the bank also participated in the drive. Bank’s Regional Manager Basudev Rakshit, Deputy Regional Manager DK Mohapatra and Chief Manager BK swain were present, among others, in the programme.
