lokaswara holds annual fest in city
Bhubaneswar: Socio-cultural organisation lokaswara organised its fifth annual festival at the lohia Academy here on Sunday with its convener Biswanath Dhal presiding over the event. Former Utkal University Vice-Chancellor Dr Trilochan Pradhan attended the event as the chief guest and unveiled a book based on the struggle and ideas of former lok Sabha Speaker Rabi Ray. Social activist Prafulla Samantara said that democracy cannot be gained without abandoning the idea of social work. Besides, bio-agriculturist Natabar Sadangi and social worker Sita Sahoo were felicitated on the occasion.

Bhubaneswar: The Veera Surendra Sai Nagar Unayan Parisad felicitated newly-elected Bhubaneswar (North) MlA Priyadarshi Mishra at a function organised here on Monday. Documentary on no tobacco released
Bhubaneswar: ‘Salam Jiban’, an Odia documentary film based on anti-tobacco theme, was released on the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day here on Saturday. The film is directed and produced by Md Imran under the banner of Nisha Mukti Yuba Sankalpa. The film of 20-minute duration is made to create awareness among the public, said coordinator of the film Rama Krushna Dakua.
