Shibashankar Ulaka joins BJP
Bhubaneswar: Former Congress leader Shibashankar Ulaka, son of former Minister Ram Chandra Ulaka, on Wednesday formally joined the BJP in the presence of the BJP State president KV Singh Deo
at the BJP office here.
Utkal Sammilani remembers Biju Patnaik
Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Sammilani observed the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Biju Patnaik, the Iron Man of Odisha, here on Wednesday. Utkal Sammilani State secretary Dr Adwaita Kumar Patra, its Mancheswar branch head Dillip Dashsharma and other members including Bibhuti Swain, Sangram Akuli Sethy, Nilamadhab Sahoo and Bishnu Prasad Patnaik garlanded the statue of Patnaik at the Biju Patnaik Park here. The garlanding function ended with several slogans.
Brahma Kumaris’ spiritual convention concludes
Bhubaneswar: A 13-day-long spiritual convention was organsied here by Prajapati Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya Bhubaneswar sub-zone director Rajjogini Bramakumari leena to celebrate the 78th birth anniversary of Vishwa Vidyalaya’s founder Parampeeta Paramatma Nirakar Trimurti Siba, ended here on Wednesday. A large number of devotees from neighbouring Sampur, Santh, Itamati, Balianta, Jharpada, Goutam nagar, Bapuji Nagar and Bomikhal attended the spiritual event. Many distinguished and spiritual leaders graced the occasion.
Meet on biomechanical science at SOA tomorrow
Bhubaneswar: Around 300 doctors, dental surgeons, engineers, scientists, ergonomists, experts in sports medicine and physiotherapists from different States are scheduled to attend the national conference on biomechanical science being organsied by Centre for Biomedical Science of SOA University scheduled on March 7 at the institution.
“The main objective of this conference is to ensure that end products of laboratory research are put to practical use,” said Dr Jagannath Sahoo Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at the university-run Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital and chairman of the NCBMS.
The main theme of the conference would be “Biomechanical sciences: emerging research domain.”
