Narasinghpur: Addressing a public meeting at the Narasinghpur High School ground here on Sunday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the Biju Krushak Yojana (BKY) has covered around one lakh families in the State and aims at extending its reach in coming days. later, Patnaik inaugurated and laid foundation stone for a slew of projects. Minor girl raped in Kendrapada
Kendrapada: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a middle-aged person at Kusunpur under the Marsaghai police station on Saturday. Pitambar Nayak (52) of the same village raped the girl, a student of Class-III, after asking her to come near a bamboo bush. The girl later informed this to her maternal grandmother. Notably, the girl is staying at her maternal uncle’s house to study at a nearby school. The victim’s grandmother lodged an FIR at the police station. Both the victim and accused person were sent for medical examination on Sunday, said Marshaghai PS IIC Sukant Kumar Patra.
Dreaded criminal arrested in JSpur
Jagatsinghpur: The police on Friday arrested dreaded criminal Susant Chand alias Manua who had been absconding for the last several months and later, forwarded him to court.
