Winning the game is more important than individual milestone: Viru
Bhubaneswar: Winning the match is more important the personal milestone said Virender Sehwag while inaugurating the renovated playground at Pragati Sporting here on Sunday. For me if I have scored double century and the team lost the match then the individual score was a total wastage for me. In other situation I got a 40 or 50 runs and my team won the match I consider the second situation was ideal more me, added Virender. Before the match I always visualise the situation and set my planning so I never felt any nervous.
This is my natural habit, but some legendry player like Sachin Tendulkar who always felt nervous before facing the first two balls after that he is a complete different player, added devastating batsman Virender. Pragati Sporting Club created two synthetic turf wickets and four turf wickets to provide better technical sports to their members. Natural turf pitches suffer in bad weather so in climates where there is frequent rain or conversely lots of dry, sunny weather, the surface and playing quality can be adversely affected. This in turn can result in periods of non use or poor use at the very least. There is also the cost of repairing and maintaining this type of pitch in order to render it useful on a regular basis and this can be considerable.
However, with synthetic turf pitches, very little maintenance and very few repairs are needed. The tufted polypropylene synthetic grass wickets are conducive to both pace and spin for all levels of cricket in all weather. To strengthen the facilities in the club added bowling machine from United Kingdom. The machine have 19 variations with maximum speed of 160 miles per hour. Among others, chief secretary Jugal Mhapatra, Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra, additional DGP Sanjeev Marik, Odisha Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera, Tata deputy vice-president Arun Mishra, Pragati Sporting coach Kishor Mania, president Ranjib Biswal, secretary Nilesbahidhar and many members were present.
