Syndicate Bank CMD to visit State today
Bhubaneswar: Newly-appointed CMD of the Syndicate Bank Sudhir Kumar Jain will pay a two-day visit to the State from Tuesday. He will inaugurate the bank’s new branch at Sijua in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday and a Cuttack link Road branch on Wednesday.
New Bank Of Baroda zonal head appointed
Bhubaneswar: The Bank of Baroda (BOB) has appointed SK Shaw as the new zonal head of the bank for the Bihar-Odisha-Jharkhand zone. On taking charge, he asked the staff of the zone to focus on CASA, retail loan, SME loan and agriculture advances, especially the Kisaan Credit Cards. Prior to this appointment, Shaw has worked in States like Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat and UP, apart from Bihar.
Workshop discusses improved stents
Bhubaneswar: A workshop organised here on Sunday discussed the big rise in cardiovascular diseases in India. Cardiologist Dr PK Sahu of Apollo Hospital informed that Platinum Chromium Stent has been newly developed to battle this killer, which has been claiming approximately 2.4 million lives per annum. Platinum chromium offers better visualisation which makes stent placement and management easier. Also, it’s other features like thin structure, high radical strength, trackability and flexibility that boost a physician’s confidence when mission is to save the life of a patient suffering cardiovascular problems.

Bhubaneswar: Well-known musician of the pop and rock genre leslie lewis enthralled music lovers in the city on Saturday with his performance. This was his second visit here, and this time he was here by an arrangement with Bacardi. He said a musician can still flourish without being part of the Bollywood. City-based Unbound Retention band provided instrumental support to lewis.

Bhubaneswar: Green Trends, the Hair and Beauty salon service business of FMCG conglomerate CavinKare, has launched its outlet here, which is the second in the State and the 136th salon in the country. As part of the launch ceremony, cine actors Sabyasachi and Archita graced the occasion. Business Head of Trends In Vogue Pvt ltd Gopalakrishnan said that more such outlets are in the pipeline.
