New RBI Regional Director appointed
Bhubaneswar: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Pradipta Kumar Jena as its Regional Director for Odisha here. Prior to this appointment, Jena was in-charge Regional Director for Bihar and Jharkhand circle. He had joined the RBI as an officer in the year 1984. During his 29 years of career, he has worked in various centres of the RBI including Patna, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, New Delhi and Kolkata.
Pradhan is new Secretary of Works
Bhubaneswar: Nalini Kanta Pradhan has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Department of Works. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday issued orders in this regard, which allowed Pradhan promotion to the Engineer-in-Chief rank and to hold the post of Secretary of Works. Pradhan was Chief Engineer of World Bank Projects, where he was handling various road projects worth of Rs 900 crore.
Magazine ‘Sai Darshan’ released
Bhubaneswar: A bimonthly Odia magazine Sai Darsan was inaugurated by former Minister and film peronality Prashant Nanda here at the Jaydev Bhawan recently at the annual function of the Swagatika Sanskrutik Anusthan. Editor of the magazine Manoranjan Mohapatra spoke about the objectives of the publication. MlA of Ekamra Bhubaneswar Ashok Chandra Panda and astrologer and writer Dr Pradeep Kumar Choudhury were also present on the occasion.
Textile body office-bearers elected
Cuttack: New office-bearers of the Textile Merchants’ Association (TMA) of Cuttack were elected for the year 2013-2015 recently. Mohan lal Jain was elected as president while Sibu Kumar Poddar was elected as vice-president, Sushil Kumar Chowdary as general secretary, Rajesh Kumar Agarwal as joint secretary and Hanuman Singhi as treasure.
DAV CSpur cabinet takes oath
Bhubaneswar: An oath-taking ceremony of the newly-constituted school cabinet of the DAV Public School, Chadrasekharpur was held on Friday in the school premises. Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Odisha State, Kali Prasad Mishra administered the oath joining as the chief guest amid the school’s chairman and principal.
