Odisha bag 3 medals in national rowing meet
Bhubaneswar: Odisha squad bagged one gold, one silver, one bronze and total of three medals and ends its campaign on Saturday in the 16th Sub-junior and 17th Challenger Sprint National Rowing Championship at Ulsoor lake in Bangalore. Altogether a five member Odisha team participated in the meet. Earlier on Friday, Pricila Baxla and Manisha Kispotta bagged a gold medal in the girl’s coxless pair event. Similarly on Saturday, Soumya Ranjan claimed silver medal in the sub-junior single scull and the duo of Bikash Patra and Roshan lakra bagged bronze medal in challenger double events.
Sunrise beat Bidanasi in FAO Football league
Bhubaneswar: Sunrise Club defeated Bidanasi Club by 2-1 goals in a tough fight group-B league match of the FAO 1st Division Football league at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. Emanuel Chika of the winning team draw the first blood in the 10th minute and his-mate Adeseun Joseph doubled the lead in the 21st minute. After the change of sides, Giffone of the Bidanasi scored a goal in the 57th minute and only help the team to reduce the winning margin. Durga Madhab Nayak, PK Pal, Ratnakar Barik and Bhanu Bauri were conducted the matches as the referees. In the group-B league match, Rising Star Club would meet Young Utkal Club.
