Debasish scores hattrick in Football league
Bhubaneswar: Debasish Nayak of Shaan Club, Gadakana scored hat-trick as the team hammered City Club, Nayapalli by 3-0 goals in the group-B league match of the tenth Gatikrushna Memorial Bhubaneswar Football league at Unit-1 High School Ground here on Saturday.
Debasish drew the first blood in the fourth minute and he doubled the lead in the 34th minute. After the change of sides, Debasish nailed the final goal in the 56th minute. Durga Acharya, Durga Routray, Chitrambada Patra and Sarada Prasan Sahu were the official referees of the match. Netaji Railway Institute would meet Department of Sports in the league round match on Sunday.
ECORSA, Cuttack-A script first innings lead
Bhubaneswar: Cuttack-A and ECORSA gathered first innings lead against Dhenkenal and Mayurbhanj respectively at day-one stumps in their two-day-long super league match of the Kalahandi Cup Senior Inter-district Cricket Tournament at different grounds in Cuttack on Saturday. Jobra school enters PVR Murthy meet semis
Bhubaneswar: Satyajit Beura of Municipality High School, Jobra scalped six wickets guided the team to enter the semifinal round by defeating SCB Medical Public School by three wickets in the 9th PVR Murthy Inter-School Cricket Tournament at BOSE Engineering Ground in Cuttack on Saturday. Winning the toss SCB elected to bat first, Satyajit claimed six wickets and bundle out SCB innings for 110 runs in 23.5 overs. Chasing the small target, Deepak Das smashed 38 runs and Jobra reached the winning target for the loss of seven wickets in 18.4 overs. Satyajit bagged the man of the match award. In a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Ranihat High School would meet Cambridge School.
