A ladoo weighing 20 kg offered to lord Siddha Vinayak at the Siddha Vinayak Temple at Hillpatna here on Monday was sold at a whopping Rs 25,001 through a tender process later in the evening.
lalit Kumar Mohapatra, a resident of Ashok Nagarg in the city, purchased the ladoo at the highest bidding price. Devotees in large numbers offered prayers at the famous temple during 1,008 Aalati offered to the lord in the evening. Among the notables, IG of Police (Southern Range) Amitabh Thakur visited the temple.
Heavy security arrangements had been made for smooth darshan of the lord. Temple management committee president Ashok Sahu, secretary Surendra Choudhury and former president Susanta Sabat coordinated the Puja programme
The Ganesh Puja was also observed at all educational institutions, different Government offices and business places across in the city amid religious fervour.
