Police on Sunday fished out bodies of two youths from a roadside pond near Shyamsundarpur on the Shyamsundarpur-Baspur road.
Kendrapada SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat said locals had come across the bodies floating on the pond. Police then recovered the bodies and a bike.
The deceased were identified as Subrata Jena (28)and Sanatan Pattanaik (24) of Talagaon village under the Patkura police station.
Police were yet to find the cause of death. Sources said both youths had gone for a New Year picnic. While returning, they might have fallen into the pond because of inebriated condition or fog.
