Two persons drowned while taking bath in the Samal barrage of Brahmani river in Angul district on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Kishore Nayak (27) and Kanhu Charan Mohanty (29).
The tragedy took place near the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) project in Brahmani river here. .
Seeing the two drowning, the locals, who were also taking bath in the river, raised an alarm and informed the fire brigade personnel. Later, their bodies were fished out and sent to a nearby hospital for autopsy. Following the incident, a pall of gloom has descended on the village and nearby areas.
