The police on Monday arrested two women of West Bengal for illegally possessing and transporting 29 kilograms of ganja worth Rs3 lakh at Chandikhol in Jajpur district.
According to Badchana police station IIC Ranjit Shoo, the accused were identified as lili Ghosh (28) and Sibani De (36) of 24-Praganas. They were nabbed while boarding a bus to Kolkata. The police officers are on the lookout for other persons allegedly involved in the ganja trade. The arrested women admitted before the police that they procured the ganja from Chhendipada in Angul district.
Both were produced in the Chandikhol court, which rejected their bail applications and remanded them to jail custody.
