+2 Science e-evaluation likely to be hit

The much-hyped online evaluation of Plus II Science answer papers scheduled to begin on Monday is likely to be affected as nearly 40 per cent of the total 4,000 examiners have applied for leave on health ground.   The Higher Education Department has introduced the facility for the first time this year to ensure zero error in the evaluation process in the backdrop of massive irregularities in scrutiny in 2014. The sudden leave applications of the teachers have put the department in a fix.

“Nearly 40 per cent of the selected scrutinisers who have already been imparted training for online evaluation have applied for leave on medical ground. We have asked the concerned college principals not to allow them to go on leave at any cost,” informed Higher Education Additional Secretary Durga Prasad Behera. He also warned the scrutinisers of strong disciplinary action if they fail to perform their assignments.

The department has introduced e-evaluation of five Plus II Science papers, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The department has provided training to the examiners for e-evaluation of four lakh answer scripts of 94,952 students.
