Two doctors on Covid-19 duty at the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in Sundargarh district tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday.
The doctors are among the18 infected with the virus in the district on the day.
Total 18 samples were found positive in last 24 hours in the district, of which 15 are men and three women. While 14 cases were reported from quarantine centres, two cases are in home quarantine and two are local contacts. The two local contacts are the staffs of RGH, the Sundargarh Collector said.
Source said that two doctors including a woman were admitted to the Hitech Covid Hospital here. The swabs of all the doctors and staffs of the hospital have been collected and sent for the test.
Among the new cases, six are jail inmates. They were quarantined at the Special Jail in Rourkela. Of them, one is a Gujarat returnee. He was lodged in home quarantine at Kalunga.
