Two patients were killed on the spot when an SUV carrying them rammed into a truck from the rear at Soro College Chhak in Baleswar district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Sheikh Mortaza and Jamal Shah. The vehicle carrying them from Mukundpur in West Bengal was heading towards the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. Two other occupants the SUV were also injured seriously. Being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the bodies for postmortem and rescued the injured and admitted them to the Soro Community Health Centre. The injured were later shifted to the Baleswar District Headquarters Hospital.
