District Collector-cum-District Election Officer Nitin Bhanudas Jawale on Thursday issued show-cause notices to a college lecturer and an overseer of the District Horticulture department asking them to reply to the allegations that they violated the model code of conduct.
Arakshita Samantaray, lecturer in Sociology, Karilopatana College reportedly arranged a meeting for a candidate of the Patkura Assembly constituency at the latter’s house at Nayan Vihar on March 31.In another case, Horticulture Overseer Abhiram Das has been served the notice for allegedly involving himself in the campaigning for a candidate while remaining absent in his office without obtaining prior permission from his higher authority.The two have been asked to submit reply within 24 hours clarifying why disciplinary action would not be taken against them as per laws.
