Two more patients succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday, increasing the total death toll to 1,926 in the State. The two deaths were reported from Kendrapada and Balangir districts.
And on the day, as many as 1,374 more people tested positive for the virus in 28 districts and the State pool, the highest single-day rise in 2021. With this, the total positive tally rose to 34,8,182 in the State.
Of the new cases, 812 were reported from quarantine and 562 were local contact cases.
Sundargarh district reported the highest 355 cases followed by Khorda with 193, Nuapada 135, Sambalpur 77, Bargarh 59, Jharsuguda 52, Cuttack 51, Rayagada 47 and Kalahandi 45.
Besides, 45 cases were reported from the State pool.
Currently, the active cases in the State stood at 7,003 and the cumulative samples tested were 93,38,708 samples, including 33,996 on Thursday.
However, 403 patients recovered on the day, taking the total recoveries to 33,9,603 in the State.
