As the number of Covid-19 positive patients is on the rise in Bhadrak district with one more fresh case reported from Basudevpur block in last 24 hours, the district administration on Friday declared containment zones in two more gram panchayats (GPs) to break the chain of spread of the deadly virus.
As many as 10 villages coming under the two GPs of Arandua and Brahmanigaon under Basudevpur block have been kept under containment. Random sample collection and sanitisation activities would be undertaken in the confined areas.
With this, movement of public has been strictly restricted in the zones. All shopping establishments would remain closed while supply of essential commodities and medical requirements would be ensured through teams formed by the district administration. All Government and private institutions within the containment zones would remain closed.
So far, 12 positive Covid-19 cases have been reported in the district with all the patients having travel history to different parts of India.
Earlier, five GPs were declared as containment zones in the district.
