Two employees of Adhunik Metaliks ltd died on the spot while a truck hit their motorbike head on at Jamunadhipa, two km from Vedvyas on Saturday.
The deceased were Surendra Singh and Ramesh Chandra Barik of the Teliposh area. The incident occurred while they were going towards Rourkela. The truck driver fled from the spot. The irate villagers blocked the road demanding adequate compensation to the deceased’s families. later, getting assurance from police and administrative officials that their demand would be met, the locals withdrew the blockade.
Similarly, two others died in separate accidents near Rajgangpur town. While a cyclist died after being hit by a biker on the State Highway 10 and another was run over by a goods train.
